What springs to mind when you hear the words - BlueSky?
Well, any of the above are pretty much on the right page, but what may surprise you is that blue-sky is a genuine phrase we use in our business!
More precisely we talk about blue-sky thinking, which is defined as:
"the activity of trying to find completely new ideas."
In the context of our work, blue-sky thinking means seeing a problem with fresh eyes, finding the big idea or pioneering a new concept.
We believe this phrase expresses the vision for our work and hence we've adopted it to become our company name!
You can probably tell we like our abstract names!
When we founded our original company in 2012, we chose the name Sidra Blue. This name has personal resonance for us, as it represents the limits of man's thinking which felt right, as we're always trying to find the limits. However, as we've evolved, we realised that it's less about limits and more about possibilities.
Hence, we spent some agonising months going around in circles with names (not fun) until we realised the most authentic name was staring us in the face - BlueSky. It was already part of our culture and our language, so it felt right to embrace the term as a metaphor for our brand.
The launch of our new brand has been a journey. As a business owner I'm sure you can relate, there's a whole heap of components that have to align to bring this to fruition. And being web developers, we're particularly picky about our website, design and copy.
What has been fun is seeing our brand values come to life in playful and cutting-edge designs, intelligent and logical copy and vibrant brand colours.
BlueSky signals a new phase for the team, where we embrace our vision to become Australia's leading online custom solutions developer.
