"The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it."
Terry Pratchet, Diggers
I have just upgraded some of our newer systems to use the latest Fomantic UI version - from version 2.8.4 to version 2.8.5.
Based on the changelog on GitHub , there isn't any "major" change in this new version. But I did find one minor tweak, that may result in needing some possible "CSS magic" on your part to maintain the current look and feel of your dashboards, systems, or even webpages - and it has to do with the icons.
In the new 2.8.5 version, they have added 2 new lines of properties to the icon class -
line-height: 1;
vertical-align: middle;
In most situations when you use the icons, these 2 lines probably won't impact much on how they are laid out. But when you have a more "customised" markup for your layout, this will definitely affect how the icons line up with any text (or images) next to it.
So be aware when you decide to upgrade your Fomantic UI to this latest version - make sure to check all the places you're using the icon(s) classes to make sure the 2 new lines do not affect your layout.
But of course, if you're starting off a new project, with fresh new markup, then I don't think this will have much impact for you.
